My husband Andy is a person who has very quietly helped people all his life. It’s just who he is. And, he’s always done it without fanfare.
Andy built a business that reflects how he’s lived his personal life. He wanted to build a business that helped companies solve problems and grow so more people could have good jobs. He ultimately built one of the largest companies of its kind, all built on the foundation of helping people succeed. I’m so proud of him.
Recently, Andy’s campaign produced a short film to tell the stories of everyday, hardworking Wisconsinites. He feels the only way we’re going to address the real issues that are pulling our state down is to show how the problems our state is facing are pulling down families across Wisconsin. The film also gave us the chance to share a little bit about our story and the struggles we faced when starting our family.
When Andy first told me he wanted to serve the people of Wisconsin, I’ll be honest, I was worried about what it would mean for our kids, and our family. But, the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. We saw the problems people are facing in our state, and neither of us was willing to sit back and do nothing. Andy and I both fight for the people and things we believe in. It’s who we are.
So, Andy began this journey like he begins everything — by listening. He spent 18 months listening to families from all over Wisconsin to find real solutions to make life in our state better for everyone.
Many of these conversations happened across kitchen tables where people openly shared what’s happened in their lives since Scott Walker took office — and it hasn’t been good. Walker’s cut critical funding for our public schools, fought in favor of eliminating affordable healthcare programs, and actively opposed a living wage for Wisconsin workers.
I know that when Andy is elected, he’ll serve the people of our state by putting them first.
Please take a few moments to get to know my husband and our family a little better. And, if you think Andy offers the kind of leadership needed to get Wisconsin families back on track, then share this film with your friends and ask them to do the same.
It’s time to put Wisconsin families first. So, let’s get it started!
